Thunder Bay is a city known for its talent. But comedy was something that was just hitting the stage in the last few years. Giant Laughs Comedy Festival was put together by local business owners to bring in major acts and raise money for charity. Multiple locations and one big location with a massive headliner. The problem was they needed to stand out.

The Goal: To create a brand that was recognizable as comedy and simplistic enough to see everywhere.

The Problem

The Approach

We know comedy and more importantly, we know branding Understanding what the mission is for Giant Laughs we knew that a proper identity would set the tone and create the right impact in the community. We worked with this team to create something that was simple yet recognizable in the comedy scene, there was no way we could put that local flair on this one. From the simple logo with the laughing face to the color pallet, everything was thought of as a major comedy festival. Then when it came down to messaging we knew that creating a statement was key. Just like comedy, sometimes you have to be open-minded to get the joke.
